Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. Go straight to Jail.
This is what happens when you get high on spirituality and try to avoid the inevitable shit show that 3-D life is more than capable of being.
Today we’re discussing the thin line between spiritual obsession and fear of reality.
As a student of life and spiritual knowledge, I know first hand that sometimes we try to USE spirituality as an EXCUSE to JUSTIFY living a life we really don’t want. A life where we can skip over the trials by rubbing them with with some good old fashioned snake oil.
Why is spirituality so addictive?
Spirituality is about the intangible…therefore it can do a good job of taking you away from your worldly challenges. Spiritual topics are so vast, and often so mystical and magical, that they create a safe haven that can become a crutch. This is why we spiritual addicts love it so much. It allows us to breathe and take a step away from reality.
So what’s the problem with that?
First off, there is no problem if you are content. Some people are comfortable living solely spiritual lives, such as monks or nomadic folks who choose homelessness.
But for the rest of us out here who want different—we can’t afford to only pay attention to the spiritual realm while neglecting physical reality. It’s a very high cost with minimal physical return.
So what do we do?
As usual, I will never claim to have all the magic sauce, but in my experience, it seems we must constantly PUT ENERGY towards bridging the gap between where we are, and where we want to be.
What does that mean?
It means we don’t spend ten hours shuffling a tarot deck about cleaning the house when the mop and bucket is in front of us.
It means we don’t pray everyday for a spouse, yet never go on dating apps or put ourselves out in the world to actually find a date.
It means we don’t go see a psychic about weight loss when we know that we don’t want to let go of eating bad food, and that we just want to sit on the couch all day.
It means that we are not so far gone that we can not see where source may already be sending us physical help.
It means we take ownership of the decisions we make which are not in line with what we desire…and we ALSO take ownership of our ability to make new and better decisions.
Let’s not try to use spirituality to cover up the real life issues we are having in the 3-D. If you want real change, in physical reality, spirituality is a great place to start. It can help you get in tune with higher levels of consciousness and tap into broader wisdom and principles.
But you have to then bring this awesome stuff down to earth, live it, and ultimately share it! If you want to make something real happen in your world…you will, at some point, have to get real. Get your hands dirty. Real is the third dimension. Earth.
Welcome. Let’s get to work!
