We are each the main character of our little lives.
We are all complete with a past, present, and ever expanding future.
Each of us is surrounded by a cast of characters. Some make daily appearances, some mere acquaintances, some strangers, some friends and some foes.
We have characteristics: habits of thought, dress, and emotion.
But today I want to talk about this:
Are you writing your life script before life happens, or are you just randomly reacting to whatever is happening around you, and calling that life?
Are you the cause or the effect? Are you in line with your a higher power, or your flesh?
I’ll be honest. I go back and forth. Sometimes I do really well to remember who I am, and stay in character. Other times I align with 3-D circumstances, chaos, and drama.
In the less ideal times, I start to look too closely at the physical things going on my life and then I REACT out of CHARACTER.
SO HOW DO WE STICK TO THE CHARACTER AND ATTRIBUTES WE WANT? HOW DO WE CHOOSE WHO WE ARE BEFORE LIFE TRIES TO FORCE US TO BECOME A PERSON WE DON’T WANT TO BE?
Every perceived obstacle in your life means this: YOU ARE EXPERIENCING INTERNAL CONFLICT, and therefore your AIM is BROKEN. You are focused on a problem, but not the solution.
But here’s the thing. There’s nothing wrong with internal conflict. UNLESS, you don’t understand its use.
Internal conflict gives us the ability to understand that we are out of tune with something we desire.
With this knowledge, we can then ask ourselves: WHAT do I want and why do I want it? What feeling am i searching for?
I talk more about this in this post about envy.
Answering these two questions HONESTLY will always lead you to the truth.
Most of us don’t truly know WHY we want things, or we lie to ourselves about the why.
EVERY SINGLE HUMAN ON THIS PLANET WANTS TO FEEL THEIR OWN CREATIVE POWER. We all want to feel like we have some sort of impact on our moods and attitudes. Being jerked around by the waves of life is exhausting at best, and debilitating at worst.
When you are in an emotional state of conflict, your power is greatly diminished because you are being pulled in two directions. Your focus is fractured, and we all know that fractured focus creates chaotic vision.
When you write the story of your life, you must write it as you desire to CREATE it. You must place your mind in the position where you are who you want to be, and you have what you want to have.
And practice keeping your mind in that powerful place of focus.
When you slip up, just remember, the story never really ends! Every second is another opportunity to do a rewrite.
So, what story are you writing about yourself? Are you the wimpy protagonist who blames everyone for her problems, or are you the ever evolving master of challenges?
Choice is yours!
